Yōkai Nukekubi (Character Design Challenge)

A piece created for the Character Design Challenge under the theme of 'Yōkai'. This character is a nukekubi: a female yōkai whose head detaches from its body at night to find and feast on human blood. The costuming was inspired by traditional Japanese attire, colours and patterns, but given a fantastical twist inspired by the work of fashion designer Eiko Ishioka.
